Recently, I have begun to recycle or "Upcycle" old jewelry. By taking apart broken or out of style pieces, I have found unique elements to use in more up to date pieces. Below are some examples.
A client brought me this Southwestern necklace that had belonged to her grandmother. While she liked the elements, the piece was just too large and out of date for her tastes. We discussed the type and size of jewelry she wears most often. We also considered functionality for the pieces she would like.
After a little redesigning, the Client got back a ribbon necklace, a pair of matching earrings, two pendants, and an adjustable length choker. We are currently considering a bracelet or more pendants from the remaining elements.
